Gurugram, August 17, 2025 — In the early hours of Sunday morning, a disturbing incident shook the Gurugram neighbourhood of influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav. Around 5:30 a.m., three masked individuals on a motorcycle opened fire outside his residence in Sector 57, discharging more than two dozen rounds. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
What the CCTV Footage Revealed
Surveillance footage capturing the chilling moment has gone viral. The video shows the armed assailants arriving on a bike, with two of them repeatedly firing at the house. The gunshots riddled the ground floor and shattered windows across the property.
At the time of the attack, Elvish Yadav was away from home. His family and the caretaker were present but escaped unhurt. His father, Ram Avtar Yadav, later remarked that the family was jolted awake by the gunfire, and upon checking the CCTV, they saw at least two perpetrators clearly.
“Bhau Gang” Takes Credit — and Issues a Warning
Hours after the shooting, a bold social media post appeared, featuring twin-gun graphics and the text “BHAU GANG SINCE 2020.” The post, reportedly authored by associates of fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau, identified the shooters as Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. It accused Elvish of promoting illegal betting apps that, according to them, had “ruined many homes.” The message ominously warned other influencers: “Anyone promoting these apps should know—a call or a bullet could come at any time.”
While the police have not yet authenticated the post, its aggressive tone and blatant motive have intensified concerns about the reach and methods of the Himanshu Bhau gang.
Who is Himanshu Bhau Gang?
The Bhau gang, active since 2020, is notorious across Delhi-NCR for violent acts and extortion. Led by Himanshu Bhau, a fugitive from Rohtak allegedly hiding abroad, the gang has been linked to high-profile attacks—including a deadly 2024 shooting at a Burger King outlet in Delhi.
Their calling card—the phrase "Bhau Gang Since 2020"—has appeared at multiple crime scenes, a tactic meant to instill fear and claim dominance. Law enforcement agencies continue to hunt the gang’s key members, though many remain at large.
Police Response and Next Steps
Gurugram police teams promptly cordoned off the area, collected forensic evidence, and are reviewing CCTV footage. An FIR is expected to be filed once the family formally submits a complaint.
Police officials emphasized that while Yadav was not targeted physically, the firing was aimed at property, sending a clear message of intimidation.
Bigger Picture: Influencers and Accountability
This incident underscores a troubling trend: influencers can become targets if their content—or associated endorsements—cross ambiguous legal and ethical lines. The apparent link to betting app promotion raises urgent questions about responsibility and influencer regulation.
While formal motives remain under investigation, the brute public warning from a criminal outfit highlights the dangerous overlap between digital fame and real-world threats.
